7)   New Business

A. The Second Bristol/Plymouth District Website: www.SEMassGOP.com

·         The district needs to pay $129.35 in order to renew our website for another year.

·         $9.95 is due by March 17 for domain name registration.  $119.40 is due by May 1 and covers the hosting fees.

·         Dartmouth’s share will only be one-third of the total costs or $43.12.

·         Suggestion is to do what was done last year: Authorize Dartmouth to pay the total amount and be reimbursed by both New Bedford & Fairhaven for their equal shares.

B.  Christopher Pereira, Dartmouth School Committee member, seeks reelection.

·         He is a long time DRTC member and our only elected town official.

·         Seeks a second term of 3 years at the next town election.

·         Chris would like to address our committee concerning his candidacy.

C.  Our Goals to Consider for 2005 – MassGOP Town & Ward Committee Development Manual

·         An excerpt of the Development Manual has been sent to you as a point of reference.

·         State Committeeman Arthur Larrivee has asked us to consider the following questions:

o        What is the mission of our town committee?

o        How would we rank our accomplishment of this mission in 2004?

o        What are the challenges facing the Republican Party in 2005?

o        What can we do to remedy the challenges?

o       What can we do to motivate our members and to increase our membership?

D.  Discussion of possible 2005 committee fundraisers

·         We have to consider possible fundraisers for our committee.

·         We have not yet heard from the rest of the district as to their proposals.

·         We should consider possible district wide & committee only fundraising events

·         Please contact Brock Cordeiro, Michael Zeman, or Chris Pereira with your ideas and suggestions

·         Please bring your thoughts to our next meeting.
